Our mobile library visits the rural schools of Puerto Guadal, Puerto Bertrand, and Mallín Grande every week to carry out reading-mediation sessions that strengthen comprehension skills and nurture a genuine love of reading — tools that enrich students’ personal development and life skills.
Above all, we are committed to fostering a love of reading from a very young age.
In line with this mission, throughout 2025 we have had the opportunity — thanks to the support of Fundación Angelini — to develop the new school library in Puerto Guadal. It now offers a renewed collection of engaging, up-to-date books, along with an environment specially designed to invite children to approach reading with curiosity and enthusiasm.
At the same time, our mobile library has been made possible through funding from the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage via its Book and Reading Fund.
We would also like to highlight the invaluable technical and professional support of Fundación La Fuente and Corporación Troquel. Their teams not only carefully selected age-appropriate titles for our students but — through Corporación Troquel — provided exclusive training sessions in reading mediation and library management for our community, involving the entire Cuenca Viva team as well as local teachers and residents.
Following these significant steps forward, we must continue to deepen and strengthen our work so that our students grow into individuals — and future professionals — equipped with the skills to understand, analyze, and enjoy what they read, while developing critical thinking, empathy, and a lasting curiosity for learning.
Because promoting reading not only expands knowledge — it opens doors to a more conscious, free, and participatory life in society.
