Our mobile library travels every week to the rural schools of Puerto Guadal, Puerto Bertrand, and Mallín Grande to hold reading mediation sessions aimed at developing reading comprehension and a love for reading — benefits that strengthen our students and their life skills.
Above all, we care about nurturing a love for reading from a very young age.
Behind this same purpose, during 2025 we have had the opportunity to develop, thanks to the support of Fundación Angelini, the new school library of Puerto Guadal, which now features a renewed collection of engaging and up-to-date titles, along with furniture specially designed to encourage children to approach books with curiosity and enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, our mobile library has been made possible thanks to the funding provided by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage through its Book and Reading Fund.
We cannot fail to mention the valuable technical and professional support received from Fundación La Fuente and Corporación Troquel, who not only carefully selected the most suitable titles according to the ages of our students, but also —through Corporación Troquel— offered training sessions in reading mediation and library management created exclusively for our community, involving not only the Cuenca Viva team but also local teachers and community members.
After this important progress, we need to continue deepening and working systematically in this field so that our students grow to be individuals and future professionals with solid tools —capable of understanding, analyzing, and enjoying what they read, while developing critical thinking, empathy, and a lasting curiosity for learning.
Because promoting reading not only expands knowledge, but also opens doors to building a more conscious, free, and participatory life in society.
